A group of dentists coming together to provide a well-rounded practice that’s aiming to help its local community. Each of our dentists proudly calls Houston their home and is excited to serve you and your family. DR. JOANNA WHANG
Dr. Whang is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry, with a special focus on creating a comfortable environment for patients. Understanding that dental visits can be intimidating for many, she strives to make each appointment a positive experience. Her goal is to connect with patients, alleviate dental anxiety, and ensure everyone receives the quality care they deserve. Dr. Whang believes in the importance of continuous learning and regularly pursues continuing education courses to enhance her skills and stay current in the field.
Outside of the office, Dr. Whang enjoys unwinding by watching TV shows, exploring new restaurants, and playing board games with her fiancé. She looks forward to welcoming you and helping you achieve your best smile!
DR.AUDREY HUR
When she’s not seeing patients, you can find Dr. Hur watching baseball and college football. She also loves to be active, whether it be yoga, skiing, or hiking, but at the same time enjoys her downtime making matcha, testing out Korean skincare, and playing with her beloved Chiweenie, Peppa.
DR. MUSTAFA SHINTA
Dr. Mustafa Shinta is a spirited Texan living the American dream. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Biomedical Engineering and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the #1 nationally-ranked University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. He is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). It’s easy to see that he takes his passion for dental care and his patients’ smiles to heart.
Dr. Shinta is fully committed to his patients’ smiles, and that means keeping his mind and skills sharp! It is his firm belief that to be the best in the dental industry, you have to take a lifelong approach to learning and education. Each year, he takes many advanced courses to enhance his skills and stay at the top of the dentistry field. This enables him to serve his patients’ unique dental care needs quickly and expertly, providing them with a gentle and comfortable experience every time. No matter his patients’ concerns—emergency, restorative, or cosmetic—Dr. Shinta ensures their trust is always in the best hands possible.
While he’s lived in about every major city in Texas, Dr. Shinta is proud to call Houston his home. He’s a diehard Houston Rockets fan and is always trying to stay active in the Houston community. DR. HIEU NGUYEN
Dr. Hieu Nguyen is a proud Houston native who loves helping his patients here in Cypress. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. With the burgeoning development of the city and all of his family residing in Houston, he felt it was only natural to return home and give back to his hometown community.
To Dr. Hieu Nguyen, dentistry is not just drilling and filling, but the perfect blend of art and science. Although he loves many facets of dentistry, Dr. Nguyen most enjoys getting to know his patients. To him, the heart of patient care is taking a personalized approach because each patient and their smile is special. Whether a patient’s concern is cosmetic, restorative, or a dental emergency, Dr. Nguyen creates a genuine connection with his patients and provides them with the excellent, individualized care they need.
Dr. Nguyen also attends seminars annually to learn about the latest technologies, procedures, and materials in the evolving dentistry field. This helps him provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages with an ease borne of hard-earned experience. Dr. Nguyen is a family man who loves spending time with his wife (who you may recognize) and two children. He couldn’t be happier than when they’re all together, whether that means watching movies together or spending time outdoors playing sports. Like his wife, he is a big sports fan, and his love for his hometown means that he’s always rooting for the Houston teams. Luckily, this is something that they both enjoy doing together. DR. NOUR AMIN
Dr. Nour Amin is a compassionate and focused doctor that can brighten anyone’s day. Providing quality dental care in a comfortable setting is something she takes very seriously. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Dr. Amin earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT School of Dentistry in Houston, graduating at the top of her class.
She is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the Texas Dental Association (TDA), and the Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS). She is an active member of her local dental community and takes many advanced courses annually to continue providing her patients with the best dental care available. Dr. Amin’s goal is to help every patient understand the significance of their oral health on the rest of their body. She has lived all around the world and realized a common trait among all people, young and old, is eating and smiling! This is what ignited her passion for dentistry, and she continues to let that passion shine through in her patients’ lovely, healthy smiles to this day.

DR. KATY PORAMAPORNPILAS
As a Houston native, Dr. Katy Poramapornpilas always dreamed of opening a private dental practice in her hometown. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition, she attended The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston. After earning her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, Dr. Katy contributed and practiced at offices in her home community near where she grew up. She has devoted her professional career to all aspects of general dentistry. To stay current with the latest developments in dentistry, she has always exceeded the continuing education requirements of Texas.
By providing exceptional dental services to patients of all ages at Dentist Tree of the Heights, Dr. Katy is dedicated to helping her community grow bright and healthy smiles. Meet Dr. Joanna Whang, an associate dentist originally from Los Angeles, California. After earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, she made the exciting move to Houston shortly thereafter.

Dr. Audrey Hur is a born and raised Houstonian who takes pride in providing her patients with the highest quality of care. A lifelong Longhorn, she earned her Bachelor of Science and Arts in Biology at the University of Texas at Austin, where she then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry. Wanting to expand her skills after dental school, she completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in South Jordan, Utah, focusing on advanced procedures such as molar root canals, implant dentistry, wisdom teeth extractions, and full-mouth rehabilitation. She is committed to keeping up to date with modern dentistry through numerous continuing education courses, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care while also focusing on patient comfort, prevention, and long-term oral health.
