PPO DENTAL INSURANCE

With your PPO plan, you can easily have the affordable and flexible care you need at our office.

Here at Dentist Tree of the Heights, our dentists do our very best to ensure you never have to worry about your dental work breaking the bank. This shows in our Houston dental office’s dental insurance policies. We accept all PPO dental insurance plans to allow our patients a wide range of flexibility when it comes to their treatments’ affordability. Dental PPO is the most popular type of insurance because it gives patients the flexibility they need to fit all of their dental needs.

PPO plans have the broadest network of dentists available, so you can make sure you get the expert level of dental care you need no matter where you are. You also don’t need to declare a primary care dentist, which makes getting specialist care or dental work while traveling fast and simple. There’s no need for a referral, which can take weeks to go through when you need immediate attention from an expert dentist.

If our office isn’t in-network with your provider, that’s okay! You can still get the high-quality treatment you need. PPO plans don’t require you to stay within their specific network so you can always get incredible dental care when and where you need it. Out-of-network dental offices will only have a slightly higher cost out of pocket.

WHAT DENTAL INSURANCE PLANS COVER

Every plan is unique, so knowing what is and isn’t covered by your plan is critical.

Whether you need a routine dental cleaning or more extensive treatment, it’s essential that you know exactly what your insurance plan covers. Even the best dental insurance plans, such as Humana and Cigna dental insurance, have their limits. Most dental insurance plans follow a 100-80-50 structure depending on the type of treatment you need:

Preventive Care (100% Covered) twice-annual dental hygiene appointments, fluoride treatments, and sealants
Basic Procedures (80% Covered) – composite dental fillings, root canals, tooth extractions
Major Procedures (50% Covered) – dental bridges, tooth crowns, certain oral surgeries
Orthodontics – many full coverage dental insurance plans, such as Delta Dental insurance, cover orthodontics

Dental insurance plans are designed to provide for essential treatments that keep your smile’s health in peak shape. Elective procedures like cosmetic dentistry and dental sedation are not covered by insurance. You should instead look to our office’s other financing options to ensure your treatment stays perfectly within your budget. Dental implant insurance is uncommon, but some full coverage plans will provide at least part of the cost of the implant’s crown.

DENTAL INSURANCE FOR SENIORS

Count on our compassionate dental team to help you ensure your dental work never needs to break the bank.

With our older patients, our dentists are often asked, “How much is dental insurance, and is it worth it in retirement?” Without an employer offering dental benefits, dental insurance cost becomes something patients worry about frequently. Along with our office’s other financing options, dental insurance for seniors can be crucial in getting you the essential dental work you need to take care of your smile. You just need to ensure you choose a policy that can meet your smile’s individual needs, saving you the most money in the long run.

Insurance in retirement is often essential because dental health problems become much more common as you grow older. For example, 93% of patients have had at least one cavity by age 65, with the average person having between 4 and 10 throughout their lifetime. Depending on the severity, taking care of tooth decay can require anything from simple dental fillings to more intensive root canals and tooth removal. 30% of people 65 and older have no natural teeth left at all.

However, even the most affordable dental insurance plans are only worth it if you use them. Patients who regularly only need dental cleanings twice a year or the occasional dental filling every few years might not get the full value of their plan. However, if you expect that you’ll need several major treatments throughout the year—root canals, tooth extractions, bridges, and dentures—having an insurance plan can be more than worth it.
