HOW DENTURES HELP YOUR SMILE

There are so many amazing advantages to replacing your missing teeth with dentures.

Say goodbye to your gapped smile and missing teeth for good! Replacing your extracted teeth with one of our expertly designed and comfortable dentures allows you to quickly enjoy the benefits that a beautiful smile has to offer.

BOOSTED CONFIDENCE

Dentures don’t just help you boost your appearance—they improve your confidence and self-esteem too! Empty tooth gaps all too often make patients embarrassed to show off their smiles, especially if those lost teeth are in the front. However, with a full set of pearly whites again, you can be proud to let your smile show more often! Plus, patients who smile more are often happier, more productive, and build better long-lasting relationships.

EASIER EATING

Teeth are an essential part of mealtimes for obvious reasons as they help you bite into and chew food. Any missing teeth can put a wrench into your eating experience, making it difficult to break down foods into easily digestible pieces. Some patients try making up for this by sticking to soft foods and liquids, but this only leads to poor nutrition. The act of chewing itself tells your body to get the digestive system up and running, so only with your new false teeth can you get the majority of the vitamins and minerals you need.

IMPROVED SPEECH

Your teeth, especially your front ones, play an important role in your ability to speak clearly. Certain sounds are only possible by touching the back of your teeth with the tongue, so missing teeth can lead to lisps, mispronunciations, and slurred speech. Dentures return this crucial relationship, allowing you to speak just as clearly and cleanly as you used to.

HEALTHIER SMILE

When patients have lost some but not all of their teeth, the underlying bone where they had been starts shrinking. As bone is lost, the nearby teeth around the tooth gap start moving closer into the growing socket. Without a partial denture to hold those teeth steady, new gaps between teeth appear and those teeth become loose and vulnerable to infection and decay. In worst-case scenarios, your remaining teeth may even fall out without dentures!

WHAT ARE MY DENTURE OPTIONS?

Our office has several types of dentures available to be flexible to your smile’s specific needs.

PARTIAL DENTURES

For patients missing only a few teeth, partial dentures are an incredible option. A single one can replace any number or order of teeth as long as there are enough healthy teeth remaining to support them. With molds taken of your mouth, we ensure your new teeth perfectly match your old smile to flawlessly fill the gaps left behind with ease. They stay in place using gum-pink bases resting behind your teeth and wire clasps to hook onto your natural teeth. Even without denture adhesive, you can be sure that your teeth will be incredibly stable and unlikely to slip or fall out.

COMPLETE DENTURES

When you’re missing not just a few teeth but an entire arch of teeth, complete dentures are needed instead of partials. Rather than relying on nearby teeth to hold them steady, full-mouth dentures are molded to the shape of your mouth and jaw. With one of our denture dentists designing it, your perfect fit is tight but comfortable. Your false teeth can stay secure when speaking or eating, even without denture glue or adhesive.

IMMEDIATE DENTURES

Standard dentures are prepared 6 to 8 weeks after tooth removal, when the jaw has begun to stabilize from the rapid bone loss that occurs after a tooth is pulled. However, immediate dentures allow you to leave your tooth extraction appointment with a brand new set of false teeth. Also known as same-day dentures, they are prepared using impressions taken of your mouth weeks before extraction. This way, your new teeth—partial or complete—can be ready by the time of your visit. Immediate dentures are only temporary, meant to last as long as it takes for your jaw to become more stable and your normal dentures are ready.
